Nutrition for Growth and Development

This training course details the stages of development and how they relate to self-feeding and impact the types of foods that should be served. We will discuss the six classes of nutrients that are needed for proper growth and development: carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, and water. There will be a focus on three specific nutrients that are commonly deficient in young children.

Participants will learn five different food groups that children need to eat in order to obtain all of the nutrients needed for growth. We will discuss the best choices for each food group and how these foods work together for optimal health.

Finally, we will work through common mealtime issues with young children. These include choking, picky eating, and more. We will work through solutions for each.

Target Audience: Owners, Directors, Teachers and Staff for All Ages

Trainer: Jessica Barnes (Founder and CEO of Village Table)

This training is limited to 35 participants.

Registration Deadline: Friday, February 4th, by 5 PM
